writing material


We use Bistrips as tool to create a writing material. Teacher bring this photos to the class and wants children to write something about these photos. Children describe the situation on the photos and fill in the blanks according to grammer rules. For example;

1) Which of the following is the most appropriate for the first blank?

A) Swim
B) Walk
C) Think
D) Ride

2) Which of the following is the most appropriate for the second blank?

A) Concentrate
B) Study
C) Work

We can use this tool to teach vocabulary to learners by using the stories.
We can chose a story and find the unknown vocabularies in it and write its meaning with a picture. Moreover for pronunciation we can make them read aloud several times.

1)      SoundCloud is an online or mobile platform that allows collaboration and distribution of audio recordings. Use it to record a spoken track or comment on student recordings as they are playing. To make a comment just play the track, click on it, then type your comment in the comment box. 2)      With Voki you can type in the text of your talk and your character will read it out for you. The digitised speech is available in both male and female voices. Check out the example below. http://www.voki.com/

GoAnimate is free animation software that lets users quickly generate videos that incorporate a selection of characters, backgrounds and technical effects. While the default program converts typed text to speech (in a range of languages) you can also incorporate a voice over (in the target language) as well. There is a limit to how you can export your finished movie with the free account but you can embed it in a wiki or blog or email the link. 4) Present.me Present.me is a handy service for recording video and or audio to accompany your slides. It allows you to sync your recorded audio and video to your slides then publish everything as one complete package. Present.me allows you to have three presentations for free before you have to either delete an old presentation or upgrade your account. 
5)Storybird is the name given to short, visual stories that you or your students can make to share. For now stories written in a foreign language are not public, but you can access the ones you have made from your account or from a link.
6) Woices enables you to create location based audio maps for your students to listen to. Simply pick a location, name the map and record (or upload) audio. You can embed the published audio into a wiki or website and can locate recordings created by native speakers to embed too. For those of you with access to an iPad, there is also a mobile version.
