writing material


We use Bistrips as tool to create a writing material. Teacher bring this photos to the class and wants children to write something about these photos. Children describe the situation on the photos and fill in the blanks according to grammer rules. For example;

1)      SoundCloud is an online or mobile platform that allows collaboration and distribution of audio recordings. Use it to record a spoken track or comment on student recordings as they are playing. To make a comment just play the track, click on it, then type your comment in the comment box. 2)      With Voki you can type in the text of your talk and your character will read it out for you. The digitised speech is available in both male and female voices. Check out the example below. http://www.voki.com/

GoAnimate is free animation software that lets users quickly generate videos that incorporate a selection of characters, backgrounds and technical effects. While the default program converts typed text to speech (in a range of languages) you can also incorporate a voice over (in the target language) as well. There is a limit to how you can export your finished movie with the free account but you can embed it in a wiki or blog or email the link. 4) Present.me Present.me is a handy service for recording video and or audio to accompany your slides. It allows you to sync your recorded audio and video to your slides then publish everything as one complete package. Present.me allows you to have three presentations for free before you have to either delete an old presentation or upgrade your account. 
5)Storybird is the name given to short, visual stories that you or your students can make to share. For now stories written in a foreign language are not public, but you can access the ones you have made from your account or from a link.
6) Woices enables you to create location based audio maps for your students to listen to. Simply pick a location, name the map and record (or upload) audio. You can embed the published audio into a wiki or website and can locate recordings created by native speakers to embed too. For those of you with access to an iPad, there is also a mobile version.

1)https://speechpeek.com/  SpeechPeek is an online portal that allows ESL/EFL teachers to create interactive speaking and listening exercises for students to complete and submit remotely. Using peripheral or embedded laptop microphones, students record themselves speaking the exercises you provide, and their results are saved on the site for you to listen to and grade. Teachers have the opportunity record “solutions” to the exercise in their own voices, and a feature of the site allows you to provide personalized feedback to each student on each exercise

2) http://busyteacher.org/  BusyTeacher is an extensive repository of affordable e-books, downloadable classroom posters, informative education articles for ESL/EFL teachers and over 10,000 free printable worksheets in dozens of categories. You can find innovative methods for coaching grammar and punctuation, new teaching ideas, timely lessons specific to the season and more. Free online tools at BusyTeacher include applications for creating word search, jumble and letter tile puzzles as well as a daily warmer that you can slip into your curriculum or use as inspiration for fun exercises of your own.

3) http://www.esl-lab.com/  contains hundreds of pre-recorded monologues and discussions on an enormous variety of topics, geared to English speakers at six distinct levels of skill from beginner to advanced. ESL lab recruits speakers from more than 60 countries, helping you introduce your students to a variety of different English accents, and some exercises contain comprehension games as aids.

4) http://www.eslvideo.com/index.php  takes an innovative approach to educational technology and turns something students probably do already into an ESL/EFL learning experience. Users register for an account, choose a YouTube video and then create quizzes based on the video content, which learners can then watch, answer and rate. Quizzes are ranked by recommended level of skill at English and contain a comment section for students to practice their written English. The diverse content on the site has been created by over 1,400 registered teachers, and registration for the site is free.

5) http://www.tefl.net/ presents its materials mainly in British English, but nevertheless offers a broad spectrum of resources for ESL/EFL teachers in the U.S. and internationally. Features include a worksheet generator, downloadable lesson plans, a discussion board for teachers, basic information about TEFL qualifications and a job board for aspiring ESL/EFL professionals worldwide. The name of the site comes from the acronym TEFL — for Teaching English as a Foreign Language — and the site’s founder has helped produce a documentary on the subject , called “Talking TEFL.”

Songs can help relax the classroom atmosphere, introduce students to colloquial English and provide an authentic cultural dimension to your lessons. 8) http://www.busuu.com/enc/ provides online interactive lessons in English (and 10 other languages) using photos and recordings by native speakers and other types of audio-visual material. Busuu also offers a mobile app for Android and iOS that contains a vocabulary of over 3,000 words and covers 150 everyday topics in its lessons. Combining classroom work with Busuu work might help engage students in multiple ways.

9) Buzzword is an online word processor by Adobe, and is perfect for writing reports, proposals, and anything else you need to access online or work on with others. It looks and behaves like your normal desktop word processor, but it operates inside a web browser, so there’s no installation required.

10) http://www.armoredpenguin.com/crossword/ Crossword puzzle maker is used to make simple crossword puzzles. It turns out that good crossword puzzles of the type found in newspapers are fairly hard to generate, and require a pool of lots of words, not all of which are used. This program puts all of the words you specify (no more, no less) into a simple crossword puzzle.
